Thea Gouverneur , when designing this work, depicted the Acropolis, crowned by the iconic Parthenon rising above the city and watching the sprawling modern metropolis evolve.
Athens is now a sophisticated cosmopolitan city. The change is evident in the gradual gentrification, cultural activities around the city, and the Athenians' tendency toward a more hedonistic lifestyle.
